Red, Beige and Blue Triple Stripe Cotton Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirt
Drake's button-down shirt in oxford cloth takes its form from the American shirts of the early twentieth century, a type that has changed very little since. This version has a narrow triple stripe of red, beige and blue on a white ground. It is made in the firm's Somerset factory with single-needle seams, a floating brushed interlining so the collar rolls softly, a box pleat at the back and a single chest pocket. It suits wear with a tie and jacket as well as open-necked with casual trousers.

Clark Navy and Red Multi Stripe Oxford Cloth
We picked a striped cotton oxford with red and blue on a light ground, the closest match Proper Cloth offered to the Drake's colouring, though its stripe is navy and red with no beige. To keep the soft roll of the original's collar we chose a soft, unstructured button-down collar and a soft front placket. We matched the single one-button cuff, chest pocket, curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. The cloth is a heavier oxford than the Drake's midweight, because that is how this stripe is woven.
A heavy oxford woven from Pima cotton with a 40/1 by 21/2 construction, so it has noticeable weight without being thick. It is striped in navy and red, a variation on the usual blue and white oxford stripe. The cloth is hard-wearing and softens with repeated washing.
