Black Stripe Cotton Oxford Two-Pocket Western Shirt

This is a western shirt made up in striped cotton oxford, a cloth more often found on city shirts than on ranch wear. The design combines western details, such as pointed yokes and flapped chest pockets, with a fine black pinstripe on a white ground of the kind associated with office dress. It is made in England from a sturdy cloth that is meant to soften and age with years of wear, and it suits both casual and smarter clothes.

Clark Grey Oxford Cloth

The stripe could not be matched, so we chose a hard-wearing cotton oxford that keeps the texture and durability of the original and went with a plain light grey in place of the black and white pinstripe. We kept the western build: a point collar, western front, western yoke, two western chest pockets, a shallow curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth offers a square two-button cuff where Drake's uses a two-button barrel, and its western pockets are cut on the bias, so the pocket details follow its own pattern.

A heavy oxford woven from Pima cotton with a 40/1 by 21/2 construction, so it has some weight without feeling thick. It is a plain soft light grey with the slightly textured basketweave look of oxford, and it softens with repeated washing and wear.
