Blue and Ecru Check Brushed Cotton Two-Pocket Work Shirt

Drake's two-pocket work shirt is a practical shirt for workshop or weekend wear. Its shape comes from utility clothing: twin flap pockets keep small items close, and the curved hem can be worn in or out. It is cut from a slubbed, brushed Japanese cotton in a large blue and ecru check, finished with a stand collar and fisheye corozo buttons, and sewn with single-needle seams in Italy. It is meant to be worn alone or as a light layer over a T-shirt.

Teton Navy Slate and Gold Ombre Flannel

We wanted a brushed all-cotton plaid with a similar soft surface and a large, open check. We chose a navy, slate and gold flannel, which keeps the cool blue base but uses gold where the original has ecru and brown. We matched the rounded flap chest pockets, the one-button barrel cuffs, the front placket, the curved hem and the corozo buttons. Proper Cloth does not offer a stand collar for this shirt, so we used a soft Franklin spread collar. The shirt is made with a split yoke and 0.2″ stitching.

A heavyweight 100% cotton flannel woven from 30s two-ply yarns and brushed on the surface, so it feels soft and fairly dense. The plaid layers navy and slate with gold lines in a shaded, ombré effect. It is warm enough to wear as an overshirt and still breathes well.
