Blue Chambray Long Point Collar Shirt
This is a plain blue chambray shirt, a cloth that has been a staple of men's dress for about a hundred years and sits close to the centre of Drake's range. It is cut to a regular silhouette and made in the house's Somerset factory, with single-needle seams and floating interlinings that keep the collar and cuffs soft. The long point collar gives it a slightly dressier line than most chambray shirts, so it can be worn open with casual clothes or under a tailored jacket.

Portuguese Light Wash Indigo Slub Chambray
We chose a Portuguese indigo chambray in a light wash because it keeps the original's solid blue and all-cotton make, and its washed finish gives a soft, faded colour from the start. The cloth is slubbed and heavier than the Drake's, so this version has more surface texture and a more workwear character. We set a soft, unfused point collar, a one-button cuff, a front placket, a single chest pocket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons to follow the original. Proper Cloth does not offer Drake's long point or its box pleat in this cut, so we used the softest point collar available and a split yoke.
A 100% cotton chambray woven in Portugal from 20s yarns, with an indigo warp across a white weft, given a light wash for a soft, faded blue. Slub yarns make the surface uneven and a little rustic, and the cloth is on the heavier side for a shirting. It breathes well and grows softer with washing.
