Bleach Wash Denim Work Shirt
Drake's Bleach Wash Denim Work Shirt takes its cue from the plain cotton shirts worn for workshop and service duties, given a softer, faded character through a bleach wash. It is cut from a 5.7oz Japanese denim and made in Portugal with single-needle seams, a long point collar and a single pleated chest pocket closed by a buttoned flap. It is intended as a practical shirt for everyday and weekend wear, worn on its own or as a light layer.

Albiate Light Wash Indigo Denim
We chose a light wash indigo cotton twill from Albiate because its colour comes from a heavy bleach wash on indigo, which matches the faded, worn-in blue of the original. We set a one-button barrel cuff, a shallow curved hem, a single flap chest pocket and mother of pearl buttons to follow Drake's details. Proper Cloth's collar options led us to a soft point collar in place of the long point, and the shirt is built with a split yoke and quarter-inch stitching as Proper Cloth makes it.
A medium-weight 100% cotton twill woven by the Italian mill Albiate, dyed heavily with indigo and then bleach washed to a light blue with slight variation in tone. It has a smooth, refined finish and a gentle drape, and as a garment-washed cloth it shows fading along the seams.

- The light indigo color of this fabric features subtle variation and is achieved through the reaction of the indigo dye with a heavy bleach wash. From sourcing the perfect denim from Japan and a 185-year-old mill in Italy to testing washes with our factory for months on end, we labor over every detail of our washed indigo shirts. After being cut and sewn, the shirts are then garment washed using either a light enzyme, soda, or bleaching process. While garment washed indigo and denim shirts are a popular product in the ready-to-wear market, they haven‘t previously been available in a custom fit or design due to the bulk production required for the washing process. We‘ve worked closely with our suppliers to bring you the first truly custom garment washed indigo and denim shirts on the market. Premium, carefully crafted shirts, made to your exact specifications. Note that, due to the special nature of the garment washing process, this fabric can only be made using soft, unfused collars, cuffs, and fronts/plackets. Since our limited-run garment washed indigo and denim fabrics are made in small batches with a special process, fabric swatches are not available. Finish: No Treatment.
