Blue Chambray Short Sleeve Cuban Shirt
A short-sleeved shirt in blue cotton chambray that takes its lead from the guayabera, a style linked most closely with Cuba and worn widely across Latin America in hot weather. The front carries four patch pockets with angled bottoms, and vertical pleats run from shoulder to hem through them. It has an open camp collar, a French front and mother of pearl buttons, and it is made in Somerset. It is a warm-weather shirt, cut to be worn loose and untucked.

Portuguese Light Wash Indigo Slub Chambray
We chose a light wash indigo chambray because it matches the original's pale blue and its solid, plain-coloured face, and its slub yarns give some of the uneven character of a soft summer cotton. We kept the French front, straight hem and mother of pearl buttons, and gave the pockets angled bottoms as a nod to the guayabera front. Proper Cloth's options did not include a camp collar, guayabera pleats or a four-pocket front, so we used a soft point collar and a plainer front. The short sleeves are finished with a cuff rather than a plain hem.
A 100% cotton chambray woven in Portugal from 20s yarns, with an indigo warp crossed by a white weft and given a light wash, so the blue looks soft and faded from new. Slub yarns give the surface an irregular, slightly rustic texture. It is on the heavier side for a shirting and softens as it is washed.

It’s woven in Portugal from 100% cotton, breathes easily, and softens with every wash. Tuck it into khaki chinos under a waxed field jacket, or wear it open over a white tee with rinse-wash denim.
