Light Blue Brushed Cotton Button-Down Shirt
The light blue button-down is a long-standing staple of the Drake's shirt range, made at the company's own factory in Somerset. Its brushed cotton gives a soft surface with enough body for cooler months. The collar has a brushed, floating interlining so the points roll naturally instead of sitting flat and stiff. It is a casual shirt that works open-necked with knitwear or under a sports coat, and can also take a tie.

Albini Blue Lightweight Slub Twill
We looked for a solid light blue cotton with some surface character, since Proper Cloth had no direct match for the brushed twill. We chose an Albini slub twill whose paler weft streaks and slubbed yarn give it a softened, lived-in look, though it is lighter and more open than the original. We set a soft unfused button-down collar to get close to the rolled points, with a one-button cuff, front placket, chest pocket, curved hem and mother-of-pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's options gave an angled pocket where Drake's has a rounded patch pocket, and a barrel cuff where Drake's has a rounded one.
A 100% cotton slub twill from the Italian mill Albini, woven from 50s yarns. It is listed as medium weight but reads light and slightly open, so it breathes well. The muted blue is streaked across the weft with paler tones, and the slubs give it a mildly worn appearance that should soften further with washing.
