Pale Blue Butchers Stripe Cotton Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirt
This is a button-down shirt cut from cotton oxford in a pale blue and white butcher stripe. Its starting point is the oxford button-down, a shirt that has stayed in steady use for roughly a hundred years and that Drake's places at the centre of its range. It is made in the company's Somerset factory with single-needle seams, a regular silhouette and a collar built on a brushed, floating interlining so that it rolls softly. It is meant to go with tailoring or casual clothes alike.

William Light Blue Reverse Stripe Twill
We chose a light blue reverse stripe cotton because it keeps the original's pale blue and white striped look in an all-cotton cloth. Proper Cloth had no matching striped oxford, so we took a fine 70s twill, which is lighter and smoother than the original's midweight oxford. To match the details we chose a soft unlined-style button-down collar, a soft front placket, a rounded chest pocket, one-button cuffs, a shallow curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Where the choices differ, we went with a split yoke and Proper Cloth's barrel cuff in place of Drake's rounded cuff.
A lightweight 100% cotton twill woven from 70s yarns, with a smooth, fine surface that looks almost as crisp as broadcloth. It has light blue and white stripes in a reverse stripe arrangement and offers reasonable natural wrinkle resistance and breathability, which makes it lean slightly more towards office wear than an oxford does.
