Blue Pinpoint Oxford Cotton Cloth Button-Down Shirt
Drake's pinpoint oxford button-down is a lighter, finer take on the oxford cloth shirt, a type that has stayed in the menswear wardrobe for about a century. The firm treats this shirt as central to its range and makes it in its own factory in Somerset. It is cut to a regular silhouette with a soft, rolling button-down collar, so it can be worn with a tie and tailoring or open at the neck with casual clothes.

Thomas Mason Light Blue Pinpoint
We chose a Thomas Mason light blue pinpoint because it matches the original's weave, fibre and weight: a solid, all-cotton pinpoint oxford. To keep the collar soft and rolling, we used a soft unfused Ivy button-down and a soft placket, which stands in for Drake's floating interlining. We matched the chest patch pocket, the one-button cuff, the shallow curved hem and the mother-of-pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's pocket comes with angled corners and the shirt is made with a split yoke. The specification lists no back pleat or contrast stitching, so we cannot confirm either.
A pinpoint oxford woven by Thomas Mason from two-ply 80s cotton. It is light but has enough body to wear well, with a pale, icy blue colour and no pattern. The cloth softens and drapes more easily with repeated washing.
