Indigo Rinse Denim Two-Pocket Western Shirt
This is a two-pocket western shirt in stone washed indigo denim, a type that began as working dress on American ranches and later became an everyday casual staple. Drake's keeps the usual western features, with pointed yokes, flapped chest pockets and two-button cuffs, and makes it with single-needle seams and mother of pearl buttons. The denim is meant to soften and fade with years of washing. It can be worn alone as a shirt or open over a T-shirt as a light outer layer.
In Proper Cloth
Dark Wash Lightweight Indigo Chambray
We chose a dark wash indigo chambray because it is a plain, solid indigo cotton that fades and softens with washing much as the denim does, though it is a lighter cloth. We matched the shape with Proper Cloth's western yoke and western pockets, a soft point collar, a soft front placket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth has no barrel cuff in this pattern, so we used a soft square two-button cuff to keep the two-button closure.
A solid indigo chambray woven from smooth 32s cotton yarns and given a very light bleach wash, so it starts out even and fairly bright in colour. It is lightweight and softens a good deal after the first wash, and over time the indigo fades gradually and gains some variation.

- A very light bleach wash and smooth yarns make this a quite even-looking chambray right out of the box. Over time, and after washing, the rich, bright indigo dye will fade out a bit, improving the softness and visual interest of the fabric. As such, only wash with like colors. This fabric will break in significantly after the first wash, like the classic chambray shirt you always wanted. Finish: No Treatment.
