Blue Denim Spread Collar Popover Shirt
This is a long-sleeved popover shirt in indigo-washed cotton denim, made in Portugal. It takes the pullover form of older casual and work shirts, with a short three-button placket, and adds a squared chest map pocket of vintage character. The spread collar and white mother-of-pearl buttons give it a slightly dressier finish than most denim shirts. It is cut relaxed and boxy, intended to be worn untucked with chinos or shorts, or with summer tailoring.

Dark Wash Lightweight Indigo Chambray
We chose a dark-wash indigo chambray as the nearest solid indigo cotton among Proper Cloth's casual cloths. Its bright dye and light bleach wash give a similar even blue that should fade with washing. We matched the main details: a soft spread collar, popover placket, barrel cuffs, a squared chest pocket, a straight hem and mother-of-pearl buttons. Proper Cloth offers no midweight denim of this kind, so the shirt is lighter, and we used a single square pocket where the original has map pocketing with contrast topstitching.
A lightweight 32s cotton chambray in a rich, bright indigo, given a very light bleach wash so it looks fairly even when new. The smooth yarns soften noticeably after the first wash, and the colour fades gradually with wear, which adds softness and depth.

- A very light bleach wash and smooth yarns make this a quite even-looking chambray right out of the box. Over time, and after washing, the rich, bright indigo dye will fade out a bit, improving the softness and visual interest of the fabric. As such, only wash with like colors. This fabric will break in significantly after the first wash, like the classic chambray shirt you always wanted. Finish: No Treatment.
