White and Navy Stripe Cotton Mandarin Collar Shirt
A band-collar shirt in striped Japanese cotton, made in Drake's Somerset workshop. The collar follows the old grandad pattern, a plain stand with no points, which gives the shirt a cleaner, more austere line than a conventional collar. The cotton is washed after making so the shirt arrives soft and slightly lived in. Fastened to the neck it looks spare and exact; left open at the throat it sits more loosely and casually.

Stanton 120s Grey Bengal Stripe
We chose a fine white and grey bengal stripe in a lightweight two-ply broadcloth, as the closest plain, smooth striped cotton to the original's light poplin. The details were set to match where the options allowed: a band collar, a single one-button barrel cuff, a front placket, one flap chest pocket, a one-piece yoke, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. The original's navy stripe gives way to mid grey, and its stripe is a touch wider than a pinstripe. The cloth is not garment-washed, so it starts out crisper.
The Stanton is a European-woven broadcloth in 120s two-ply cotton. It is very light, smooth and crisp, with almost no surface texture. It carries a white ground with a mid grey bengal stripe slightly broader than a pencil stripe. Like most broadcloths it creases fairly readily, but it irons well and can be worn unironed after washing for a softer look.

- Their light weight tends to make them more prone to wrinkling than twills or pinpoints, however broadcloths iron up nicely and can even be worn washed without ironing for a more casual look. Finish: No Treatment.
