Green Ticking Stripe Cotton Pyjama Set
This is the shirt from a two-piece pyjama set, cut in a green and ivory ticking stripe and made in Somerset. It follows the English sleepwear tradition, with a soft rounded collar, three patch pockets and a square hem that sits loose over matching drawstring trousers. The cloth is a light Italian oxford cotton, chosen to breathe at night and to be comfortable for lounging about the house.

In Proper Cloth
Clark Green University Stripe Oxford Cloth
We chose a green and white university stripe oxford because it is the closest match in Proper Cloth's range to the colour and fine stripe of the original. The only oxford in this stripe is heavier than the Drake's cloth, so the shirt has more body and suits day wear as well as lounging. We kept the mother of pearl buttons, a soft collar, barrel cuffs and a straight hem. Proper Cloth builds a shirt rather than pyjamas, so we used a French front and a single square pocket in place of the placket and three patch pockets.
A heavy oxford woven from two-ply 40s Pima cotton, in a green and white university stripe. It feels solid without being thick, is durable, and softens with washing and wear.
