Dark Green Narrow Stripe Poplin Club Collar Shirt

Drake's makes this shirt at its Somerset factory in a lightweight cotton poplin with narrow dark green stripes on a white ground. Its club collar has rounded points and a soft, floating interlining, a style that goes back to English school and club dress. The cloth is smooth with a slight sheen and resists creasing, so the shirt suits a working week as well as weekends, worn with or without a tie.

Stanton 120s Green Bengal Stripe

We chose a 120s two-ply broadcloth in a dark green and white bengal stripe because it is close to the original's colour, stripe scale and smooth plain weave. We kept the single chest pocket with a rounded base, the one-piece yoke, the one-button cuff and mother of pearl buttons. This version was made with a soft spread collar and a French front, so it does not have the original's club collar or front placket.

The Stanton is a very lightweight cotton broadcloth woven in Europe from 120s two-ply yarn. It feels smooth and crisp and has almost no surface texture. The bengal stripes in dark green and white are slightly wider than a pencil stripe. It creases more readily than a twill but irons well and can also be worn unironed.

Care
Their light weight tends to make them more prone to wrinkling than twills or pinpoints, however broadcloths iron up nicely and can even be worn washed without ironing for a more casual look. Finish: No Treatment.
