Washed Red Corduroy Two-Pocket Western Shirt
The Western shirt, long a staple of ranch and workwear dress, is treated here in Drake's usual way, with single-needle construction and mother of pearl buttons. It is cut from a substantial cotton needlecord in a washed red, a cloth chosen to fade and soften over many years of use. The details follow the classic pattern: pointed front yokes, two flapped chest pockets and buttoned barrel cuffs. It is intended as a hardwearing shirt that can also be worn open as a light overshirt.

Portuguese Red Brushed Chambray
We could not find a fine-wale corduroy in a matching red, so we chose a brushed Portuguese chambray in a faded red, whose heavier 20s yarn and raised surface give a softness and warmth close to the original's needlecord. We set the Western front, Western yoke, Western pockets, edge stitching and mother of pearl buttons to follow the Drake's shirt. Proper Cloth has no exact equivalent of the long Western collar or the barrel cuff, so we used the soft point collar and soft square two-button cuffs, which are the nearest options, and added a shallow curved hem.
A heavy 100% cotton chambray woven in Portugal from 20s single-ply yarn and brushed on the surface for a soft, slightly napped hand much like a flannel. It is a solid faded red, closer to brick than to a bright red, and its weight and brushing make it a shirt for cooler weather that should soften further with washing.
