Navy and Red Check Cotton-Linen Two-Pocket Work Shirt
Drake's two-pocket work shirt takes its form from workwear, with paired chest pockets for carrying small things and a cut meant to be worn untucked. This version is cut from a Japanese cotton and linen blend in a large navy and red check, and is made in Italy. It is finished with fisheye corozo buttons, single-needle seams and a softly interlined collar and cuffs. It is intended as a casual shirt for the workshop or the weekend, worn alone or as a light outer layer.

Faded Navy and Sage Indian Madras
We chose a faded navy madras because its multicolour plaid and washed tones come closest to the Drake's check among the cloths available. We matched the pointed collar, one-button barrel cuffs, front placket, twin flap chest pockets, curved hem and corozo buttons, and picked soft constructions to stand in for the brushed floating interlining. Proper Cloth had no comparable cotton-linen check with red in it, so we accepted an all-cotton cloth in navy, sage, yellow and cream that is noticeably lighter in weight.
This is an Indian madras woven in Chennai from 40s single-ply cotton in a plain weave. It is very light, soft and open, made for warm weather. The plaid is intricate, in faded navy, sage green, pale yellow and cream. The cloth is given its washed look before it is cut, so it should not bleed much when laundered at home.
