Black and White Check Brushed Cotton Two-Pocket Work Shirt
Drake's two-pocket work shirt borrows its plan from the utility shirt, with a pair of flapped chest pockets that take the load off trouser pockets. This version is cut from a substantial brushed cotton in a large black, white and charcoal check, and is finished with the house's single-needle stitching and mother of pearl buttons. A spread collar and rounded one-button cuffs keep it easy to move in, and it is made in Somerset to be worn on its own or as a light outer layer.

Canclini Dark Grey Plaid Beacon Flannel
We looked for a brushed all-cotton flannel with a plaid that reads in greys and darks, and chose Canclini's dark grey Beacon flannel as the nearest match to the original's muted check. Proper Cloth offered no black and white check of this scale in a comparable flannel, so the colouring is tonal grey rather than high-contrast. We set a soft spread collar, soft one-button barrel cuffs, a one-piece yoke, two pleated flap chest pockets in Proper Cloth's safari style and mother of pearl buttons. The hem is Proper Cloth's shallow curve rather than a full shirttail, and the cloth is heavier than the original's midweight.
An Italian cotton flannel woven by Canclini near Lake Como from two-ply 50s yarns and brushed for a soft, dense hand. It is heavyweight, with a tonal dark grey plaid, and is substantial enough to wear as an overshirt while staying breathable indoors.
