ALD / Drake's Red Wool Work Shirt
A work shirt in red wool flannel, made as part of a collaboration between Drake's and Aimé Leon Dore that brings together the London house's relaxed tailoring and the New York label's style. It follows the pattern of a utility shirt, with two buttoned flap pockets that take the load off trouser pockets and rounded one-button cuffs. It is sewn in Somerset with the single-needle seams Drake's uses on its shirts, and works as a light outer layer as much as a shirt.

Canclini Burgundy Melange Twill Beacon Flannel
Proper Cloth had no comparable red wool flannel, so we chose a brushed cotton flannel from Canclini in a deep burgundy melange. It was the closest available match for the original's warm red and soft, napped surface. We matched the semi spread collar, front placket, pleated button-flap chest pockets, one-piece yoke, curved hem and corozo buttons. Proper Cloth offers barrel cuffs rather than the rounded cuff, and the cuffs and collar are left soft to keep some of the original's ease.
A heavyweight cotton flannel woven by Canclini near Lake Como from 50s two-ply yarn, in a twill weave and brushed on the surface for a dense, soft hand. The burgundy melange reads as a solid from a distance but shows a mix of tones up close. It should keep its body and soften further with washing.
