Blue Ticking Stripe Cotton Oxford Cloth Long Point Collar Popover Shirt
Drake's takes the oxford cloth shirt, a staple of menswear for about a century, and makes it as a popover. The cloth is blue and white ticking stripe cotton oxford, and the collar is a long point rather than the usual button-down. It is made in the company's Somerset factory with single-needle seams, whipped mother of pearl buttons and one flap pocket. The partial placket gives it a more casual feel than a full button front, though it can still be worn with a tailored jacket.

Clark Blue University Stripe Oxford Cloth
We chose a blue university stripe oxford as the closest striped oxford available, keeping the blue and white colouring and the plain, slightly textured oxford surface. We set the main details to match: a popover front, a single flap pocket, mother of pearl buttons, a one-button cuff and a curved hem. Proper Cloth offered a soft point collar rather than a defined long point, a barrel cuff and a split yoke, so we used those. The cloth is heavier than the original's midweight oxford.
A heavy oxford woven from Pima cotton in 40s two-ply yarns, so it feels substantial without being thick. It has even blue and white university stripes, it is hard-wearing, and it softens with washing and wear.
