Blue and White Stripe Cotton-Linen Camp Collar Short Sleeve Shirt
This is Drake's version of the short-sleeved holiday shirt, a warm-weather form that has gone by many names but has always come down to an open collar, short sleeves and a square hem. Drake's keep the design deliberately simple: a neat camp collar, a plain front, a single pointed chest pocket and a straight hem, made up in Portugal from a soft cotton and linen blend in a narrow blue and white stripe. It is meant to be worn untucked in high summer.

Baird McNutt Blue Irish Linen Stripe
We chose a lightweight blue striped linen from Baird McNutt because it keeps the original's blue and white striped plain weave and its light, open hand for hot weather. We set a soft one-piece collar to give the open camp collar, with short sleeves, a plain French front, a straight hem and mother of pearl buttons to match. Proper Cloth has no pointed patch pocket, so we used its angled pocket, which comes closest in shape. We did not find a cotton and linen blend in this stripe, so the cloth is all linen.
A lightweight plain-weave linen woven and finished by Baird McNutt in Northern Ireland from 25s yarns, with a blue and white stripe. It is soft, with the irregular slubbed surface typical of linen, and it creases readily and softens as it is worn and washed.
