Blue Check Cotton Long Point Collar Work Shirt
Drake's work shirt starts from the plain, hard-wearing shirts of outdoor labour and gives it a more tailored collar. This version is cut from a brushed cotton flannel in a large blue and white check. It has two button-flap chest pockets for carrying small things and a long point collar that leans towards town shirting. Made in Somerset with single-needle seams and corozo buttons, it is meant to be worn casually, on its own or as a light layer.

In Proper Cloth
Kent Sky and Royal Lightweight Flannel
We chose a pure cotton plaid flannel in sky and royal blue, the closest Proper Cloth offered to the original's blue check and brushed surface. We kept the work shirt's main features: two flapped chest pockets, a front placket, two-button cuffs and natural corozo buttons. Proper Cloth has no direct match for the long point collar, so we used its soft point collar, and the cloth is lighter than the Drake's flannel. The hem is a shallow curve rather than straight.
A pure cotton flannel in 50s yarns, lightly brushed so the surface stays soft and fairly smooth rather than fuzzy. It is lighter than most flannels, so it works on its own in mild weather or under a sweater in the cold. The plaid is woven in sky and royal blue.
