White and Blue Pencil Stripe Cotton Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirt
Drake's treats the oxford cloth button-down as central to its range, and this version is its considered take on a shirt whose form has changed little in a hundred years. It is cut to a regular silhouette and made in the company's Somerset factory with single-needle seams. The collar has a brushed, floating interlining, so the points roll softly instead of lying flat. It is meant for a wide range of occasions, worn on its own or under tailoring.

Japanese Light Blue Stripe Sea Island Oxford Button Down
We chose a Japanese oxford in Sea Island cotton because its light blue pencil stripe on white closely matches the colouring and stripe scale of the original. We matched the main details: an unfused soft button-down collar, a soft front placket, a rounded chest pocket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth offers a one-button barrel cuff, so we used that in place of Drake's rounded cuff. The design as made lists no back box pleat.
This is an oxford woven in Japan from West Indian Sea Island cotton grown in Barbados, using 40s single-ply yarns. It has a soft, slightly lustrous hand, with a light blue pencil stripe on a white ground. Proper Cloth classes it as heavyweight and suggests it for wear throughout the year.
