Black Ticking Stripe Cotton Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirt
Drake's treats the oxford cloth button-down as a staple of its range, and this version sets it in a white oxford with a narrow black ticking stripe. The shirt follows the American model of the last century, built around a softly rolling collar held by buttons at the points. It is cut to a regular silhouette with unfused, floating interlinings and single-needle seams, and made at the company's factory in Somerset. It is meant to be worn with or without a tie, tucked or loose, across a range of settings.

Clark Blue Multi Stripe Oxford Cloth
We kept the oxford weave and the striped character, but chose a blue multi-stripe heavy oxford because Proper Cloth's range offered no close equivalent to a black ticking stripe on white. We matched the construction where we could: a soft unfused button-down collar to give the roll, a soft front placket, soft one-button cuffs, a single chest pocket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's pocket and yoke options led us to an angled pocket and a one-piece yoke in place of Drake's straight patch pocket and box-pleated back.
A heavy oxford woven from Pima cotton, with a finer warp and a heavier two-ply weft, which gives it substance without making it thick. The stripe combines navy and sky blue on a white ground. It is a hard-wearing cloth that softens with repeated washing and wear.
