Blue Ticking Stripe Long Point Collar Poplin Shirt
This is a plain cotton poplin dress shirt in a fine blue and white ticking stripe, made at Drake's own factory in Somerset. The design follows the traditional English shirt: a long point collar with a floating interlining, a single rounded cuff and one chest pocket, all sewn with single-needle seams. Its lightweight, smooth cloth makes it suitable for a suit and tie, and it can equally be worn open-necked with casual tailoring at the weekend.

Thomas Mason Blue Bengal Stripe Broadcloth
We chose a lightweight two-ply Thomas Mason broadcloth in blue and white stripes, because its smooth plain weave and slight sheen come close to the hand of the original poplin. Proper Cloth offered no stripe as narrow as the ticking, so we used a bengal stripe, which reads somewhat bolder. We kept the French front, the single chest pocket, the one-button cuff and mother of pearl buttons, and picked a soft unfused point collar to come near the floating interlining. Proper Cloth has no long point collar, so we used its soft point collar, and the shirt has a split yoke and a shallow curved hem.
This is a 100s two-ply cotton broadcloth woven by Thomas Mason, with a smooth, fine hand and more opacity than most broadcloths. It has blue and white bengal stripes. It presses crisply for formal wear and still looks right when left slightly rumpled.
