Navy Check Cotton Linen Button-Down Shirt
Drake's treats the button-down as the core of its shirtmaking, a style that has changed little in a hundred years and that the house has set out to refine. This version is cut from a lightweight linen and cotton cloth in a navy check, with a regular silhouette and a soft rolling collar held by a brushed, floating interlining. It is made in the company's Somerset factory with single-needle stitching, and is intended as a shirt that moves easily between casual and smarter settings, with linen suiting it to warmer weather.

Portuguese Blue and Green Plaid Twill
We could not find a linen and cotton check close to the original's navy, white, mustard and burgundy colouring, so we chose a cotton plaid twill in blue and green that keeps the mid-scale check and casual character. We matched the main details: a soft, unlined button-down collar, a single-button cuff, a patch chest pocket, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Our design uses a one-piece yoke and lists no back pleat, so it lacks the original's centre box pleat.
A single-ply 50s cotton twill woven by Somelos in Portugal, soft in the hand and with more body than a typical shirting. It shows a blue and green plaid, and wears as a cooler-season casual cloth that sits between a poplin and a flannel.
