Blue Brushed Tablecloth Check Cotton Two-Pocket Work Shirt
This is a work shirt cut from a substantial brushed cotton, woven in a sky blue tablecloth check with ecru, red, yellow, green and navy. It takes the practical shape of a utility shirt and finishes it with the details of Drake's dress shirting: single-needle seams, mother of pearl buttons and brushed floating interlining in the collar and cuffs. Two pleated pockets with button flaps take the load off trouser pockets, and the spread collar and rounded cuffs keep it easy to move in. It is made in Somerset, England, and meant for casual wear, whether in the garden or by the sea.

Jackson Blue Red and Gold Country Plaid
We chose a heavyweight Portuguese cotton twill in a blue, red and gold plaid to match the weight and the country character of the brushed original. Proper Cloth had no multicoloured tablecloth check, so we settled for a larger plaid in a similar range of colours and accepted a slubby surface in place of a brushed one. We matched the spread collar, one-button barrel cuffs, front placket, curved hem, mother of pearl buttons and twin flap chest pockets. Proper Cloth's rounded flap pockets come closest to the original's pleated button-flap pockets, and the split yoke and 0.2 inch stitching follow Proper Cloth's own construction.
A heavyweight 100% cotton twill woven in Portugal from thick 10s yarns, which give it a slubby, rustic surface and a sturdy hand. The colouring is a large country plaid in blue with red and gold, and the cloth is made to stand up to hard, casual wear in cold weather.
