Ecru Sun Block Print Cotton Camp Collar Short Sleeve Shirt
This is a short-sleeved holiday shirt in lightweight cotton, block printed with a medium-scale motif in rust and charcoal on an ecru ground. It belongs to the long line of open-collared summer shirts that have gone under many names, and Drake's keeps the form simple: a neat camp collar, a plain front, a square hem and a loose cut. It is made in Somerset and meant to be worn untucked in the heat of high summer.

In Proper Cloth
Albiate Black Cotton Large Scale Aloha Print
We kept the shape of the Drake's shirt and changed the cloth. Proper Cloth had no block print close to the ecru, rust and charcoal original, so we chose a lightweight printed Albiate cotton for its similar weight and open, airy hand, accepting a black ground with a white abstract floral print. We set a soft one-piece collar to give the open camp collar, a French front for the plain front, a single square patch pocket, short sleeves, a straight hem and mother of pearl buttons.
A lightweight 60s cotton from Albiate, part of the Albini Group, in a plain weave that is smooth and slightly loose in construction, so it breathes well in hot weather. It carries a large-scale abstract floral print drawn in graphic white lines on a black ground.
