Brown Gingham Check Linen Two-Pocket Western Shirt
Drake's takes the working Western shirt of the American range and makes it in a gingham linen, finished with single-needle seams and mother of pearl buttons. The design keeps the familiar Western features: pointed front yokes with edge stitching, two chest pockets under double-point flaps and barrel cuffs fastened with two buttons. The linen is meant to soften and take on character with years of wear, so the shirt suits warm weather and relaxed dress, worn on its own or open over a T-shirt.

Leomaster Beige Small Plaid Italian Linen
We looked for a lightweight linen in a small brown and ecru check, and chose Leomaster's small beige plaid as the nearest match, since its muted tones and slubby surface are close to the original even though the pattern is a soft plaid rather than a true gingham. We set the Western front, Western yoke and Western pockets, a soft point collar, mother of pearl buttons and two-button cuffs to follow the original's details. Proper Cloth offers no double button barrel cuff by that name, so we chose its soft square two-button cuff, and we took its shallow curved hem in place of the original's straight hem.
A 100% linen plain weave from the Italian mill Leomaster, woven from 20s single-ply yarn and rated medium weight, with the dry, breathable hand of linen and an easy drape. Its small plaid in muted beige shades runs unevenly with the slubs of the yarn, which gives it a rustic look, and like most linen it will crease readily and soften with washing.
