Olive Linen Cotton Games Tunic
The Games Tunic draws on the military tunic jackets worn in the early years of the twentieth century. Drake's cut it from a double-faced Italian cloth of linen and cotton, then washed the finished garment so that it arrives soft and slightly worn in. A shirt collar, a darted waist and four pleated flap pockets place it somewhere between a field jacket and an overshirt, to be worn open over a shirt or knitwear or buttoned as an outer layer in mild weather.

Japanese Olive Cotton Selvedge Twill
We chose an olive Japanese selvedge twill because it comes closest to the original's colour, twill face and washed, broken-in hand, accepting all cotton in place of the linen blend. The shirt is sewn and then washed, as the original is, and we matched the soft collar, single-button barrel cuffs, straight hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth does not offer the tunic's exact four-pocket arrangement with inverted box pleats, so we used its safari pockets as the nearest field-style equivalent, and the darted, close-cut shape is not part of this design.
A 100% cotton twill woven in Japan on selvedge looms from 20s single-ply yarn, sitting at the heavier end of medium weight. It is a solid warm olive, given a casual wash after sewing that softens the hand and leaves light puckering along the seams, and it should wear in gradually like a work shirt.
