Stone Wash Denim Smock
Drake's smock is a short pullover outer layer in indigo denim. It descends from the loose working smocks once worn by labourers and painters, and keeps their plain, practical shape. It is cut to the hip with a little ease through the body, closes at the neck with a single loop and button, and is meant to be pulled on over a T-shirt as a light layer in spring and other mild weather. It is made in the company's factory in Somerset.

Dark Wash Lightweight Indigo Chambray
We chose a lightweight indigo chambray because it was the closest match in colour, weight and casual character among Proper Cloth's cotton cloths, and because it fades with washing much as rinsed denim does. We set a popover front, a soft one-piece collar to stand in for the camp collar, a large rounded patch pocket, a straight hem and cream horn buttons to follow the original. Proper Cloth's shirt patterns require a yoke and cuffs, so we used a one-piece yoke and soft one-button barrel cuffs where the original has neither. The popover placket also stands in for the original's single loop at the neck.
A lightweight 100% cotton chambray in a solid, saturated indigo, woven from smooth 32s yarns. It is given only a very light bleach wash, so it starts out even in tone and fairly crisp. It softens considerably after the first wash, and the indigo fades gradually with wear and laundering.

- A very light bleach wash and smooth yarns make this a quite even-looking chambray right out of the box. Over time, and after washing, the rich, bright indigo dye will fade out a bit, improving the softness and visual interest of the fabric. As such, only wash with like colors. This fabric will break in significantly after the first wash, like the classic chambray shirt you always wanted. Finish: No Treatment.
