Grey Wool Four-Pocket Camp Collar Work Shirt
Drake's four-pocket work shirt is a heavy wool overshirt that borrows its plan from workwear, with plenty of pocket space so that small things need not be carried in the trousers. It is cut loose and boxy with an open camp collar, a square hem stepped at the sides and one-button cuffs, and is made in Italy with single-needle seams and fisheye mother-of-pearl buttons. It is intended to be worn as an outer layer as readily as a shirt, in the workshop or at the weekend.

Subalpino Grey Melange Brushed Wool
We looked for a solid grey wool with a brushed, heathered surface and settled on an Italian merino in grey melange with an even, lofty nap. We set a one-piece soft collar to give the open camp shape, one-button barrel cuffs, a front placket, a straight hem and mother-of-pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's pocket options led us to rounded chest pockets with flaps rather than plain patches, and the four-pocket layout and stepped hem of the original are not part of the design as made.
An Italian brushed wool sold under the Subalpino name, woven in a plain weave from 100% merino and rated medium heavyweight. It has a soft, full hand with a uniform fuzzy finish and an evenly mixed grey melange colour, and it is warm without being overly heavy, which suits it to wear as an overshirt.
