Navy Wool Hopsack Blazer
Drake's takes the navy blazer, long a fixture of the tailored wardrobe, and cuts it in the house's softer manner. The jacket has no structure to speak of: a natural shoulder, an unlined body and a three-roll-two front give it the ease of a sports coat. Patch pockets, a ticket pocket and a curved barchetta breast pocket keep it casual, and it is made in Italy from an open hopsack of fine two-ply Merino. It is meant to be worn as freely with odd trousers and an open collar as with a tie.

Reda Navy Hopsack Bedford Jacket
We chose an Italian Merino hopsack in solid navy from Reda, so the open basket texture and the colour carry over directly. We set the jacket unlined and uncanvassed, with a three-two roll notch lapel, patch pockets and mother of pearl buttons, to keep the soft, unstructured character. Proper Cloth's options do not list a barchetta breast pocket or a ticket pocket, so we used patch pockets and four kissing buttons at the cuff. Side vents were chosen because the original's vent arrangement is not stated.
A solid navy hopsack woven by Reda in Italy from Super 110s Merino wool, weighing about 270 grams. The basket weave has a clearly open, textured surface that lets air through, and it is suited to wear for most of the year.
