The Travel Jacket
The Travel Jacket is Drake's navy hopsack blazer, built for men who spend much of their time on the move. The open hopsack weave looks like a substantial cloth but breathes well and resists creasing, so the jacket can be worn through most of the year and still look presentable after a journey. Its tailoring is conventional, with a soft shoulder, half-canvas front, pick-stitched notch lapels and a curved breast pocket. Ten pockets inside and out are placed so that a passport, tickets and pens can be carried without a bag. It is made in Italy.

Reda Navy Hopsack Bedford Jacket
We chose a navy merino hopsack from Reda, an Italian mill, because it matches the colour, solid finish and open texture of the original. We set the jacket half-canvassed and unlined, with a three-roll-two notch lapel, patch pockets, dark brown horn buttons, four buttons at the cuff and two vents, as on the Drake's jacket. Proper Cloth does not offer the Drake's arrangement of ticket, fob and passport pockets, so we used its traveller interior pocket option. The Reda cloth is also somewhat heavier than Drake's lightweight hopsack.
An S110s merino wool hopsack woven by Reda in Italy, plain navy with a pronounced open basket texture. At 270 g it is a medium-weight cloth. The open weave lets it breathe in warm weather, and it is heavy enough to wear over knitwear in cooler months.
