Navy Fresco® Wool Tailored Jacket
Drake's single-breasted jacket in navy fresco is cut as a plain foundation piece for a tailored wardrobe. It follows the house pattern, with a soft natural shoulder, light shaping at the waist and a three-roll-two button stance. It is made in Italy with a full canvas, a hand-shaped chest and hand-set collar and sleeves, and the lapels are cut broad with a full curve, finished by a curved Barchetta breast pocket. It can be worn with matching trousers as a suit or on its own with separates.
In Proper Cloth
Reda Navy Hopsack Bedford Jacket
We chose a navy wool hopsack from Reda, because its open, textured weave is the closest Proper Cloth equivalent to the dry, porous surface of a fresco. We matched the soft full-canvas construction, the three-roll-two notch lapel, the single centre vent and the dark brown horn buttons, and used a quarter lining to keep the back light as the buggy lining does. Proper Cloth does not offer a Barchetta breast pocket, a ticket pocket or functional cuffs in this make, so the jacket has patch pockets and four kissing buttons at the cuff instead.
An Italian hopsack woven by Reda from Super 110s merino wool, at about 270 g. It is a solid navy with a distinctly open basket texture. It is lighter and softer than a fresco, breathes well and can be worn for much of the year.
