Charcoal Wool Flannel Tailored Jacket
The Drake's jacket is a single-breasted tailored coat in charcoal wool flannel, cut as part of a suit but equally intended to be worn on its own. It follows the house silhouette: a soft, natural shoulder, light waist shaping and a 3-roll-2 front that keeps the line easy rather than strict. It is made in Italy with a full canvas, a chest shaped by hand and a collar and sleeves set by hand, so that it drapes over the body and moves with it. It is meant to be worn with its matching trousers, or as a separate over knitwear and odd trousers.

VBC Charcoal Wool Flannel Downing Jacket
We chose a solid charcoal merino flannel from Vitale Barberis Canonico because it has the same brushed, slightly mottled surface and the cool grey tone of the original. We set the construction to a soft full canvas with a three-two roll notch lapel, flap pockets with a ticket pocket, dark brown horn buttons and four sleeve buttons. Proper Cloth offers a half lining rather than a buggy lining, so we took the half lining as the nearest equivalent, and the jacket has side vents with dark grey linings and melton inside.
A merino wool flannel woven by Vitale Barberis Canonico in Biella, Italy, in a solid charcoal grey with gentle mottled colour variation. It is a medium heavyweight cloth with a soft, brushed, slightly fuzzy hand, warm enough for autumn and winter while staying breathable.
