Black Tropical Wool Dinner Jacket
This is a dinner jacket in black tropical merino wool, made in Italy. It takes the formal evening jacket and builds it with the house's relaxed tailoring: there is no lining and no structure, and the shoulder follows its natural line. It is double-breasted, with peak lapels faced in contrasting satin, covered buttons and patch hip pockets. It is cut closer than the house's softer tailoring and is designed to be worn with matching dinner trousers for evening occasions.

Reda Black Hopsack Bedford Jacket
We chose a black merino hopsack from Reda because it is a solid black Italian wool that is light and breathable enough to stand in for tropical wool, though at 270 g it is heavier and has a more open, visible texture. We matched the soft build by setting the jacket uncanvassed and unlined, and we kept the peak lapel, patch pockets and interior travel pockets. The design as made is single-breasted with one button, black faux horn buttons and four kissing buttons on the cuff, so the double-breasted front, satin lapel facing and covered buttons of the original are not reproduced.
A black hopsack in S110s merino wool from Reda, the long-established Italian mill, weighing 270 g. The open basket weave gives a plain black cloth a visible texture and lets air through, so it can be worn in most seasons. It is a firm, practical cloth for a soft jacket.
