Brown Prince of Wales Check Tweed Blazer
Drake's cut this single-breasted blazer from a heavy Prince of Wales check tweed in earthy browns and camel, a pattern with a long history in British country and town dress. It is made in Italy with half-canvas construction and no lining in the body, and the shoulder is soft and natural. The cut is closer and more shaped than the Drake's Games tailoring, and the jacket is meant to sit between sporting clothes and city clothes.

In Proper Cloth
Angelico Beige Glen Plaid Italian Wool Flannel
We looked for a wool check with a muted, tonal palette and enough weight for cold weather, and chose a brushed glen plaid flannel from Lanificio Angelico. Proper Cloth did not offer a brown Prince of Wales tweed that fitted, so the flannel stands in for it: the check is close in kind, though the surface is softer and the colour lighter. We matched the two-button notch lapel, the half-canvas construction, the unlined body, the patch pockets and dark brown buttons. On the cuffs we went with Proper Cloth's four-button kissing arrangement, not three buttons.
An Italian wool flannel woven by Lanificio Angelico, a mill founded in the 1950s. It is dense and medium heavyweight, and brushed to a very soft hand. The glen plaid is beige, tonal and low in contrast, and the cloth suits autumn and winter wear.
