Black Fresco® Wool Double-Breasted Tailored Jacket
Drake's black double-breasted jacket is the coat half of a suit, cut in the house's soft silhouette with a 6x2 button stance and sharp peak lapels. It is made in Italy from a three-ply fresco wool supplied by a British cloth merchant. The jacket is fully canvassed with a hand-shaped chest and a natural shoulder, and the collar and sleeves are set by hand so that it follows the body. It is intended to be worn with its matching trousers or on its own as part of tailored separates.

Reda Black Hopsack Bedford Jacket
We looked for a solid black wool with an open, textured surface and chose Reda's merino hopsack as the nearest available alternative to a three-ply fresco. We set the jacket to match the Drake's construction and layout: soft full canvas, six-button double-breasted front with peak lapels, flapped hip pockets with a ticket pocket and a black lining. Proper Cloth offered horn buttons in dark brown rather than black, and the jacket is made with side vents and four kissing cuff buttons.
A solid black hopsack woven by Reda in Italy from S110s merino wool, at about 270 grams. The basket-like weave gives an open, visibly textured surface and a lighter, airier hand than a dense suiting, which makes it practical across most of the year.
