Black Irish Linen Tailored Jacket
Drake's treats the linen suit as the natural answer to summer dressing, and this black jacket is the coat half of one, sold with matching trousers or worn alone as a blazer. The linen is woven and dyed in Ireland to the house's own specification, then made up in Italy. It follows the Drake's house pattern: a soft, unstructured body with a natural shoulder, a 3-roll-2 front and patch pockets. A curved Barchetta breast pocket and twin front darts keep it within tailoring convention, while double vents and a small ticket pocket make it more practical for everyday wear.

Black Irish Linen Bedford Jacket
We chose a black Irish linen from Baird McNutt because it matches the original's fibre, its Irish origin, its solid colour and the slubby texture of its plain weave. We set the construction to follow the Drake's coat: soft half-canvas, an unlined body, a 3-roll-2 notch lapel, patch pockets, black faux horn buttons and four buttons on each cuff. Proper Cloth's cloth is heavier than the Drake's linen, and its cuffs are made with working kissing buttons, not a sham cuff. The Barchetta breast pocket and ticket pocket are not listed in the made design.
A pure linen in plain weave from Baird McNutt, a Northern Irish mill dating from 1798, at about 340 g. It is a solid black with the small irregularities of a linen yarn showing in the surface, and it has a smooth but textured hand. Like any linen it breathes well and will crease in wear.
