Sand Irish Linen Tailored Jacket
Drake's sand linen jacket is the top half of its summer suit and is also offered as a separate blazer. The cloth is an Irish linen, woven and dyed in Ireland to the house's specification, in a colour chosen for warm weather tailoring. It follows the house pattern for soft tailoring: an unlined, half-canvassed jacket made in Italy with a natural shoulder, a three-roll-two front and patch pockets. A boat-shaped breast pocket and front darts keep it formal in outline, while the double vents and a small ticket pocket make it practical to wear in the heat.

Beige Irish Linen Bedford Jacket
We picked a beige Irish linen from Baird McNutt because it is the nearest match to the original's sand colour and plain linen surface. The jacket is set up the same way as the original: soft half-canvas construction, no body lining, a three-roll-two notch lapel, patch pockets, double vents and dark brown horn buttons. Proper Cloth's cuffs have four working kissing buttons, so we used them in place of the sham cuff. The Baird McNutt cloth is much heavier than the lightweight linen Drake's uses, and we accepted that weight to keep the Irish origin and the colour.
A 100% linen plain weave from Baird McNutt, woven in Northern Ireland by a mill that has been working since 1798. It weighs about 400 g, which puts it at the heavy end for linen, and it has a smooth but textured hand. The colour is a plain, quiet beige. Linen at this weight drapes well and creases less sharply than lighter cloths, though it still breathes.
