Black Seersucker Games Blazer Mk. I
The Games Blazer Mk. I is a casual, unlined jacket that takes as much from workwear as from tailoring. Its boxy cut, patch pockets and double-stitched seams recall the working clothes of twentieth-century artists and craftsmen, though the overall effect stays clean and orderly. This version is made in Italy from a lightweight black cotton seersucker woven near Milan. It can be worn with the matching trousers as an informal suit or on its own as a separate.
In Proper Cloth
Black High Twist Cotton Sullivan Jacket
Proper Cloth had no black seersucker, so we chose a solid black high-twist cotton, which keeps the colour, the all-cotton composition and the warm-weather purpose. We set the jacket to follow the original's construction: uncanvassed and unlined, with a 3-roll-2 notch lapel, ventless back, patch and flap hip pockets, mother-of-pearl buttons and travel pockets inside. The cloth is a smooth twill rather than a puckered seersucker, so the surface texture of the original is not reproduced. Proper Cloth's interior trims also add a black lining fabric and a striped sleeve lining.
A solid black high-twist cotton twill from the Italian mill Tessuti di Sondrio, rated medium heavyweight. The tightly twisted yarns give a smooth face, a slightly open weave that lets air through, a clean drape and some natural resistance to creasing. It is suited to spring through autumn.
