Pink Tussah Silk-Linen Double-Breasted Tailored Jacket
Drake's double-breasted jacket is a soft tailored piece made in Italy and cut to the house silhouette, with a six-on-two front and long, sharp peak lapels. It follows the older double-breasted tradition but is built lightly, with a full canvas, a chest shaped by hand and a natural shoulder. In a slubbed blend of tussah silk and linen it suits warm weather, and it can be worn with tailored trousers or with denim.
In Proper Cloth
Beige Wool and Linen Stretch Bedford Jacket
We kept the shape of the original: six buttons arranged two across, peak lapels, a soft full canvas, mother of pearl buttons and an off-white lining. Proper Cloth had no silk-linen with the same slubbed surface, so we chose a Dino Filarte wool and linen twill, which is a smoother cloth with a little texture from the linen. The colour is beige rather than pink. The hip pockets are patch pockets rather than flapped with a ticket pocket, and the four sleeve buttons are working and set kissing.
A beige twill from the Italian mill Dino Filarte, woven from 86% wool, 12% linen and 2% elastane and weighing about 240 g. It has a smooth surface and drapes well, and the linen gives it a light natural texture. The small amount of stretch makes it a little more comfortable to move in.
