Brown Textured Cotton Flat Front Chino
Drake's flat-front chino is cut from a textured Italian cotton twill in an olive-leaning brown, made in Portugal. Its shape looks back to mid-century trousers, with a high rise that sits just above the hip and a full leg that narrows only slightly to a straight opening. Side adjusters are fitted alongside the belt loops, a practical detail that suits the trouser's workwear roots, and an internal French bearer finishes the fly. It is intended as an everyday trouser that sits as easily with a flannel shirt as with a sports coat.

Di Sondrio Walnut Stretch Chino
We chose a brown cotton twill from Tessuti di Sondrio because its warm walnut tone and solid face are the closest Proper Cloth match to the original's colour and plain twill surface. We kept the front flat, set the pockets in the side seams to stand in for the vertical pockets, and used a button-through flap back pocket and horn buttons to echo the original's dark horn fastenings. Proper Cloth offers no side adjusters, so the trouser relies on belt loops alone, and we took a standard finished hem rather than the original's raw-looking leg opening. The cloth carries a small amount of elastane, which sits within our tolerance for stretch.
A medium-heavy cotton twill from Tessuti di Sondrio, a mill in northern Italy with a long history, blended with 2% elastane for a little give. It is a solid walnut brown with a smooth, firm surface and enough body to keep its shape, and it is made to be worn across the seasons.
