Ecru 13.2oz Denim Five-Pocket Jeans
Drake's ecru jeans were introduced as a new jean style for the house. They are cut from a 13.2oz Italian denim in undyed ecru and made in Portugal. The cut has a slightly higher rise and a relaxed leg that tapers towards the hem, with copper rivets, a suede patch at the back waistband and slanted front pockets that set them apart from a standard five-pocket. They are intended as a light, neutral jean for casual wear.

Cody Stretch Vintage Straight Jean in Cream Japanese Denim
We chose a cream Japanese denim as the closest match to the pale, undyed ecru of the original, at a similar midweight to heavyweight feel. We kept the classic five-pocket build with belt loops, a flat front, copper hardware and warm contrast stitching in a rich gold thread to echo the original's orange top-stitching. Proper Cloth's Vintage Straight fit gives the higher rise but a straighter leg rather than a taper, and its standard front pockets and lack of a suede patch meant we could not reproduce those two details. We finished the hem with a chain stitch, which was the option available.
A 14oz off-white denim woven in Japan by Nihon Menpu from 98% cotton and 2% elastane. It has a dry, firm and substantial hand, and holds a clean, structured shape in the same way as darker, heavier denims, while the small amount of elastane adds a little give.
