Light Blue Cotton Chambray Button-Down Shirt
Drake's chambray button-down takes a cloth with long roots in workwear and gives it the cut and finish of a good shirtmaker's shirt. It is made at the firm's own factory in Somerset with single-needle seams, contrast stitching and a soft collar that rolls over a brushed, floating interlining. The cut is regular, with a box pleat at the back and a single flapped chest pocket. It is meant to be worn widely, from casual dress to tailoring.

Portuguese Slate Wash Indigo Chambray
We chose a pure cotton Portuguese chambray in a solid, washed indigo, the closest Proper Cloth offers to the plain blue of the original, though it is described as medium weight rather than light. We set a soft button-down collar, a soft one-button cuff, a front placket and mother of pearl buttons to follow Drake's construction. The available pocket options led us to an angled pocket in place of the mitred flap pocket, and the back is a one-piece yoke with a shallow curved hem.
A chambray woven in Portugal from 20s cotton, soft and smooth to the hand and medium in weight. It is a solid blue given a slate-toned indigo wash, which adds some variation to the colour and should soften further with wear and washing.
