Ecru Moleskin Two-Pocket Long Point Collar Work Shirt
This is a work shirt in ecru cotton moleskin from Drake's, made in Italy on the house's casual block. It takes its idea from the practical shirts of the workshop, with two flapped chest pockets that hold small things so the trouser pockets do not have to. The finish is careful for a utility garment, with single-needle seams and mother of pearl buttons. It is cut to be worn on its own or open over a T-shirt, on working days and at weekends.
In Proper Cloth
Thomas Mason Ivory Cotton and Cashmere Flannel
We could not find a brushed cotton moleskin in a matching pale shade among Proper Cloth's cloths, so we chose Thomas Mason's ivory cotton and cashmere flannel. It is a solid, lightly brushed cloth of medium weight with a similar soft surface and a similar undyed tone. We matched the two flapped chest pockets, the curved hem, the one-button cuffs and the mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth has no long point collar or rounded cuff of the same kind, so we used a soft point collar and soft barrel cuffs. Its flapped pocket option is a Western pocket, which has a shaped flap.
Woven by Thomas Mason from 85% cotton and 15% cashmere, this is a medium-weight flannel with a clear twill and a lightly brushed face that feels smooth and soft. It is a plain pale ivory and is warm enough for colder months. It shrinks more than standard shirting, so it should be air dried rather than tumble dried.
