Navy Stripe Denim Work Shirt
A long-sleeved work shirt in striped cotton denim, made in Somerset, England. It takes the practical workshirt as its starting point and sharpens it with a button-down collar, two flapped chest pockets and mother of pearl buttons. The collar and cuffs use a brushed floating interlining, and the seams are sewn with a single needle. It is meant to be worn casually, tucked or untucked, through the working week and at weekends.

Clark Blue University Stripe Oxford Cloth
Proper Cloth offers no striped denim to match this one, so we chose a heavy oxford with a blue university stripe, which has a similar weight and a sturdy cotton hand. We matched the main details: a soft button-down collar, soft single-button barrel cuffs, a front placket, two rounded flap chest pockets, a curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth cannot reproduce the brushed floating interlining, so we used its soft collar and cuff styles to keep them unstructured. The stripe is wider than the original's fine pinstripe, and the colouring reads as a lighter blue rather than navy and ecru.
A heavy oxford woven from Pima cotton in a 40s two-ply construction, giving a cloth with real substance that does not feel thick. It carries a blue university stripe and is hard-wearing, softening further with each wash.
