Indigo Triple Stripe Block Print Cotton Camp Collar Short Sleeve Shirt
Drake's short-sleeved camp collar shirt follows the long line of the summer holiday shirt, a simple garment with an open collar and a square hem that has gone by many names. This version is made in Portugal from a soft, light cotton that has been block-printed by hand in India with groups of three indigo stripes on an ecru ground. It is cut loose, with a plain front, a single chest pocket and mother of pearl buttons, and is meant to be worn untucked in hot weather.

Baird McNutt Blue Irish Linen Stripe
We chose a lightweight blue striped linen from Baird McNutt because it matches the original's light weight and its blue-on-pale striped look, and linen's uneven texture goes some way towards the irregular character of a hand print. We set a soft one-piece collar to give the open camp collar, a French front for the plain front, a single square patch pocket, short sleeves, a straight hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth offers no hand block-printed cotton, so the stripe here is woven into the cloth and regular rather than printed and irregular, and the cloth is linen rather than cotton.
A fine, lightweight plain-weave linen woven and finished in Northern Ireland by Baird McNutt, a mill with origins in the late eighteenth century, in 25s yarns. It carries a blue stripe and has the soft hand and slightly irregular surface typical of linen. It breathes well in heat and will crease and soften with wear.
