Blue Multi Stripe Cotton Oxford Cloth Button-Down Shirt
This is Drake's oxford cloth button-down, a shirt the house treats as central to its range and one that has changed little in about a hundred years. It is made in the company's own factory in Somerset, cut to a regular silhouette and sewn with single-needle seams. The collar has a brushed interlining that floats free of the outer cloth, so it rolls softly rather than sitting flat. Here it comes in a narrow stripe of several colours, suited to wear with a tie and tailoring or open at the neck with casual clothes.

Clark Blue Multi Stripe Oxford Cloth
We chose a heavy Pima cotton oxford in a narrow blue multi-stripe, the closest stripe Proper Cloth offers to the original's soft, many-coloured stripe, although its palette is navy and sky blue rather than the original's mix of pastels. We set the details to the classic button-down pattern: a soft Ivy button-down collar, soft front placket, single-button barrel cuffs, a rounded chest patch pocket, a shallow curved hem and mother of pearl buttons. Proper Cloth's cloth is heavier than Drake's midweight oxford, and its options describe the collar as soft rather than offering the original's brushed floating interlining by name, so we accepted those differences.
A heavy oxford woven from Pima cotton in a 40/1 by 21/2 construction, giving a cloth with noticeable body that stops short of feeling thick. The stripe runs narrow in navy and sky blue on a light ground, and the cloth is hard-wearing, softening with each wash.
