Navy Wool Double-Breasted Blazer
Drake's double-breasted blazer belongs to a long line of navy club and naval jackets, cut here in a relaxed manner for informal dress. It is made in Italy in the house's soft tailoring, with a natural shoulder and no lining, so it sits closer to a cardigan than a structured coat. The cloth is an open-weave 2-ply Merino at a mid weight, and brass buttons in a six-on-two arrangement give the jacket its traditional blazer character. It is intended to be worn with trousers, flannels or denim, buttoned or left open.

Double Breasted Reda Navy Hopsack Bedford Jacket
We chose a navy merino hopsack from Reda because its open, textured weave and solid colour come closest to the Drake's mesh cloth, and its weight is similar. We set a six-on-two double-breasted front with a peak lapel, patch pockets, four-button cuffs and an unlined, soft half-canvassed build to match the original's easy construction. Proper Cloth's button options led us to dark brown horn in place of engraved brass, which gives a quieter jacket than the gold-buttoned original.
An S110s merino wool hopsack woven by Reda in Italy, at about 270 g, in plain navy. The open basket weave has a slightly dry, textured hand with something of the look of linen, breathes well in warm weather and resists creasing.
